A bright and beautiful church right in the
centre of Los Gigantes right in the main square. It is famous for its huge
mural behind the altar depicting the Holy Spirit descending on Christ,
surrounded by a number of local dignitaries! It caused quite a stir when
it was first shown but has now become a much loved part of the church and
the village. Above the entrance there is a small circular stained glass
window which shows the four islands of the Roman Catholic Diocese of
Tenerife - Tenerife, La Gomera, El Hierro and La Palma.
Another very interesting feature is the ‘Stations of the Cross’ each
displayed in its own lit alcove.
The doors are open throughout daylight hours and it is worth a visit,
outside of main worship times to admire its beauty.
The weekday and Sunday worship is always known for its vigorous hymn
singing and joyous worship.
After the Thursday service we meet for coffee etc in the square at the
Restaurant Asturia for a time of fellowship and sharing.

Central Los Gigantes in the early
sixties, the foundations are laid for the cobbled courtyards which lead
off from the then un built Plaza Bouganville, the third of the stepped
tiers towards the back of the photo was subsequently levelled when the
church was later built.
